Srinagar: The death toll in the terror attack on CRPF jawans in Pulwama district’s Awantipora town in J&K has gone up to 30 on Thursday evening.
Reports said nearly 25 others were also injured in the attack that took place on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
Officials said the casualty figure might increase.
The dastardly attack is probably the biggest terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir since the Uri Army camp strike of September 18, 2016.
Media reports quoting police sources said the terrorists targeted a CRPF convoy, which was moving from Jammu to Srinagar. The convoy was over 70 vehicles in which more than 2,500 personnel were moving.
