Bhubaneswar: Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama arrived in Bhubaneswar on a two-day visit to Odisha amid rousing welcome by hundreds of people to the spiritual leader today.
Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Surya Narayan Patro welcomed the spiritual leader at the airport on behalf of the Odisha Government.
A large number of devotees who had also come from far-flung areas to catch a glimpse of their beloved leader whom they consider as their “living God” queued up on both the sides of the road between Airport to Naveen Niwas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Hotel Trident in Jaydev Vihar area.
After his arrival at the airport, Dalai Lama at 1.10 pm he was driven to Naveen Niwas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Sources said that during his two-day tour of the State, the spiritual leader will attend a programme of a private educational institute. He will hold discussion with students. He had visited Odisha seven years back.
