Bhubaneswar: After a considerable spell of staying off activities, Pyarimohan Mohapatra-led Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) today hit the headlines revealing plans to forge a “grand alliance” with 15 other parties in the State.
The coalition would be an alternative to BJD and Congress, Mohapatra said at his residence here after Bibhuti Mishra, who recently left Congress, joined his party.
Mishra, who had unsuccessfully contested 2009 Lok Sabha election from Cuttack on a Congress ticket, joined OJM along with his supporters from Athagarh.
Mohapatra said Mishra’s association with OJM would strengthen the party.
Stating that OJM has been accorded political party status, the former BJD leader said a symbol for the party might be allotted by November 25.
