Berhampur: Berhampur police today take former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena on 5-day remand. Police had sought a 14-day remand from the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here, the court granted 5-day remand of the ex-legislator.
The Berhampur police yesterday sought remand of Ramesh Jena only at the SDJM court, following which the court had reserved its verdict on the remand plea and pronounced it today by granting five-day remand of Jena.
It should be noted that former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena was arrested along with his two aides from Bhubaneswar on Sunday. Besides Jena, his father Arakhita and two of his associates Bapi and Jaki were arrested and forwarded to court on Monday. All of them were sent to judicial custody after their bail pleas were rejected.
