Baunsa Rani literally means “The Bamboo Queen”. It is one of the oldest dance of Odisha. In this dance style a girl shows various acrobatic postures on the crossed bamboo bar as well as on the floor with exquisite scintillating movement synchronized with the beat of drums and songs. This dance is very dangerous dance form. To perform this dance it needs a lots of experience. Mainly many poor families performs this dance to earn some money. You can see this dance mainly in the village areas in Odisha.
