Biju Patnaik Airport of Odisha is a public airport of Odisha. This airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The Elevation of this Airport is 138ft or 42meters. It is situated on the coorinates of 20°14′40″N 085°49′04″E. The length of the runway of Biju Patnaik Airport is 4524 ft or 1379 in 05/23 direction and 10500 ft or 3200 meter in 14/32 direction. Till now this airport is a domestic airport but it will be an International Airport by April 2012.Â
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) invested 145.54 crore for making 10 Aero bridges. The new building will be of 18000 sq kms. It is said that after completion of this work then the total capacity of Biju Patnaik Airport will be about 970 domestic passengers and about 348 international passengers during peak hours. AAI will invest about US $50 million (Rs. 2.5 billion) for the development of this Biju Patnaik Airport of Odisha.
