Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today expressed his gratitude to the people of Bijepur and party candidate Rita Sahu for the victory in the by-poll. The BJD Supremo also telephoned Sahu and congratulated her.
Taking to Twitter, Patnaik wrote: “I am also thankful to the people of Bijepur who have given constant support to the party. Also, congratulating the workers of Biju Janta Dal for the record-breaking victory in Bijepur. ”
“Wishing BJD Bijepur MLA candidate Rita Sahu the very best for the next term as she reached to the people of Bijepur and made a fantastic contribution to serve the people,” Patnaik tweeted.
Notably, Rita Sahu won with a whopping margin of 97,994 at the end of 21 rounds of counting. It was the third polling in two years to elect an MLA from Bijepur assembly contituency.
